The beginner's guide to tracking your cycle for better lip and skin care
May 2026

Cycle tracking sounds complicated. It is not. And once you start, you will wonder how you ever navigated your body without it.
Why track your cycle at all
When you know where you are in your cycle, everything makes more sense. The day your skin breaks out — that is luteal phase progesterone. The week you feel unstoppable — that is follicular estrogen rising. The moment your lips suddenly feel raw and uncomfortable — that is your menstrual phase asking for gentler care.
Cycle tracking transforms confusing physical experiences into information you can actually use. And when it comes to your lips and skin, that information changes everything about how you care for them.
The simplest way to start
You do not need a complicated system. You need three pieces of information.
First — the first day of your last period. This is day one of your cycle. Everything else is calculated from here.
Second — the approximate length of your cycle. Most cycles are between 26 and 35 days. If you are not sure, track for two or three months and average the lengths.
Third — awareness of how you feel each week. Not detailed notes — just a general sense. High energy or low. Skin clear or breaking out. Lips comfortable or sensitive. A single word per day is enough.
Using the Saulué phase tracker
The fastest way to start is to use our cycle phase tracker on the homepage. Enter the first day of your last period and it will calculate exactly which phase you are in today and which Saulué oil was made for this moment.
This is the most practical entry point into cycle awareness we know of — because it immediately translates your cycle data into a single actionable recommendation. No charts. No spreadsheets. Just — you are in your luteal phase, reach for Still Water.
What to notice as you track
After one or two cycles of awareness, most women begin to notice patterns they never saw before. The breakout that comes like clockwork on day 22. The week of extraordinary clarity and motivation around days 8 to 12. The afternoon on day 14 when everything feels effortless. The heaviness that settles around day 25.
These are not random. They are your hormones communicating. Tracking lets you hear them.
Building a cycle-synced lip care ritual
Once you know your phases, rotating your Saulué oils becomes completely intuitive. Velvet Rest appears on your bedside table around day one. First Light replaces it around day six. Full Bloom comes out around day thirteen. Still Water takes over around day seventeen.
Four products. One cycle. A ritual that actually makes sense for your body.
Because caring for yourself is infinitely easier when you understand what your body is asking for — and you have exactly the right thing to give it.
